Majlis competition – Majlis Al Tawash presentation

Our 2012 contemporary Majlis Design concept takes its inspiration from the Marine heritage and traditions of the United Arab Emirates. With a modern twist of materials, a minimalist approach, and a strong attention to proportions, details and balance, we created Majlis Al Tawash.

It is without a doubt that the contemporary success of the UAE finds its roots with generations of pearl fishermen, goods traders and skilled navigators. We have oriented our designs to reflect keynotes found in the marine architecture as well as featuring materials used in the same industry.

Wood -Mahogany(used for the hull), cotton (used for the ropes and sails ) Kevlar and cotton strap ( to sail and bring shades). The wood with a glossy finish, floor and wall partition, to reflect the shades of the canvas stretched on the sides and ceiling. In this interpretation of the Mushrabya with new materials, we bring contrast with shadows and straight lines. Hidden upward side lights and narrow spam spot lights enhance the mushrabya pattern and give a strong activity to this relaxing space. We believe in luxury, through simplicity.
