The Yellow Room in Gulf Today - Official Opening with Sheikha Jawaher Al Qassimi - "Women urged to be creative in business"
By Mariecar Jara-Puyod November 25, 2010

WOMEN should excel in their respective professions and pursue their entrepreneurial skills, urged Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qassimi, chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and honourary chairperson of the Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC).
Sheikha Jahawer gave the inspiring message at the exclusive session with SBWC officers and members as well as with media members on Wednesday morning, when she inaugurated The Yellow Room, a boutique-cum-lifestyle centre in Sharjah, located on Sharjah Beach Road.
“We encourage our daughters and sisters to pursue their own jobs and careers, to start their own businesses,” Sheikha Jawaher said when talking to The Gulf Today. She expressed happiness over the zeal of sisters Haleema and Hessa Al Owais, the boutique and lifestyle centre owners, in setting up the novel enterprise.

She emphasised that such initiatives along with other “well-researched small and medium businesses,” situated in villas, will have a positive effect on the quality of life not only in the communities where these are located but more importantly, propel the country’s economic structure.
“The strategy has seen tremendous support from Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler and Chairman of the Executive Council in Sharjah, where the council issued the decision (26/2010), establishing a committee to consider transforming villas from residential use into commercial or professional use on a case-by-case basis,” according to a statement released later in the day.
According to Sheikha Jawaher, women must be creative and not copycats when they get into such business ventures. She stressed that women who dare to reach their dreams of becoming successful professional and business leaders need not fear since all they have to do is come forward and seek advice as well as guidance from the government and the SBWC.
